Daughters of the American Revolution.

Welcome to the Coral Gables Chapter of NSDAR!

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was founded in 1890 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C.. We are a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children.

Eligibility for joining is proof of direct, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided the Americans during the American Revolutionary War. These Patriots may have fought, rendered aid, or provided supplies for the cause. There are now over 190,000 national members in 3,000 chapters worldwide.

The Daughters work to promote three objectives of NSDAR: historic preservation, education, and patriotism. DAR members volunteer more than four million hours annually. Volunteer areas are as varied as our members with assistance to active duty and veterans, schools, literacy, scholarships, preservation, libraries, conservation, American history, and many other avenues of service. Our members are diverse in age, race, and ethnicity. Yet, our commitment to service and our country is a common denominator.
